The Route

How We Got Here.

Chapter 01 · The Gap

It Started on the Mountain

After nearly a decade guiding people up Mt. Shasta, Mikey Bell kept seeing the same thing. It wasn't desire that stopped people short of the summit. It was preparation.

01The Gap
Chapter 02 · The Answer

Bridging the Gap

Outdoor Adventure Training launched in 2021 to make mountain readiness accessible from anywhere. Science-based programs designed for adventures, not the gym.

02The Answer
03 · The Why

“In 2016, I was diagnosed with epilepsy after a grand mal seizure. While it significantly altered the course of my life, I refused to let it be the end of my story.”

Mikey Bell · Founder

A Label Isn't a Limit.

Your age. An injury. A diagnosis. Whatever label you've been given, it doesn't determine what you're capable of in the outdoors.

Chapter 04 · Today

More Than Fitness

OAT has grown into a global community of hikers, trekkers, skiers, and mountaineers. With monthly Zoom calls and an in-app message board, you're never training alone.

04Today

Who We Train With.

You've been on enough adventures to know what showing up unprepared feels like.

Knee pain on day two
Falling behind the group
Out of gas before the summit
A trip cut short by injury

You want to feel strong and capable in the mountains without chronic pain holding you back, to say yes with confidence in your fitness, and to enjoy your adventures instead of enduring them.

You're not just training for one trip, you're training for a lifetime of them.

We're here to help you keep doing what you love.
